Pressure has already been placed on Sirianni this season, and after icing the game against the Browns he turned to the fans and started pointing to his ear. Sirianni was also seen shouting at members of the crowd after hearing them turn on him during the game.
The Eagles only narrowly secured victory, beating the Browns 20-16 despite another disappointing afternoon for Cleveland quarterback Deshaun Watson. A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith both caught touchdown passes from Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts , as Philadelphia improved to 3-2 on the season.
Sirianni has gone from being heavily supported by Eagles fans to dividing the fan base, and a loss to the Browns could have turned more supporters against him. The shock firing of New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh led to speculation over Sirianni's role, due to the ruthless business of the NFL.
The Eagles coach admitted before Week 6 that he wasn't allowing negative reports to impact his mindset, as he said: "Anything out of your control or anything that consumes your mind that's not focused on not getting better is a waste of time.
"It only clouds the process... if you're focused on things that you can't control, that's gonna cloud that hunger and drive to get better. So that's all that we think about.
"You probably can say 'Oh, well that's coach talk' I'm not bull------- you. That's how I lived, that's how I've operated. You are who your habits are and that's how I've been operating for a big portion of my life."
Hurts has also shown signs of frustration this season but told NBC Sports that his relationship with Sirianni remains strong. "We're the two leaders of the team," said the Eagles quarterback.
"I'm happy and fortunate that we were able to come together in harmony and have the same goal in mind, trying to get this thing right. I have a ton of confidence in him, a ton of confidence in what he brings and everything he's been able to accomplish.
"Just continue to press, on that. Everybody goes through different moments, everybody experiences adversity but we've experienced different levels of adversity together. We're excited for what's to come."
