Visitors to California’s most famous national park can soon visit without needing a reservation

Yosemite National Park has announced the early conclusion of its 2024 peak-hours reservation system, originally scheduled to run through October 27. The park will no longer require reservations for vehicle entry after Sunday, October 13, 2024.

The decision to end the reservation season early comes after monitoring visitor use patterns and impacts throughout the year. Officials determined that, based on current visitation trends, the reservation system could be safely concluded ahead of schedule.

"We're seeing manageable crowds and minimal impact on the park's infrastructure," a Yosemite spokesperson said. "This allows us to lift the reservation requirement and make the park more accessible to visitors during the final months of 2024."

For visitors who had already made reservations for peak-hour entry beyond October 13, refunds will be automatically issued. Yosemite National Park emphasized that the process will be seamless, and affected individuals do not need to take further action.

With the reservation system now concluded, visitors can enjoy unrestricted access to Yosemite for the remainder of the year.
