Detroit defensive end Aidan Hutchinson suffered a serious leg injury in the third quarter of the Lions' 47-9 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas, on Sunday and his status for the rest of the season remains very much up in the air.

Following his team's win, Lions coach Dan Campbell said Hutchinson, 24, has a tibia injury and will remain in Dallas while the rest of the team flies back to Detroit.

"He's getting taken care, he'll stay back here," Campbell said. "Obviously he's going to be down for a little while. ... We'll know a lot more (later)."

Hutchinson, one of the league's premier defensive players, was injured while sacking Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott during the Lions' first defensive drive of the half. Players from both teams huddled around Hutchinson as medical personnel tended to him and placed him on the cart.

After coming back from commercial, the Fox broadcast would not replay the injury.

Hutchinson, the second pick of the 2022 draft, had 6.5 sacks entering the contest. He recorded 11.5 sacks for Detroit last season and entered the day with 27.5 for his career.
