Jerry Jones Leaves No Doubt About His Opinion of Cowboys' Week 6 Embarrassment

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones didn't hide his true feelings after watching his team endure a 47-9 drubbing at the hands of the Detroit Lions in Week 6 on Sunday.

The Cowboys were no match at all for the Lions and didn't even pose a threat to their NFC rivals, as they trailed 27-6 in the first half and never bounced back from their slow start.

Quarterback Dak Prescott had a forgettable game, failing to throw for a touchdown while committing two interceptions as he finished with 17-of-33 pass completion for just 178 yards.

Making matters worse for the Cowboys, this was their fifth-worst loss in franchise history. The other four worst losses came before the 1990s, according to NBCDFW.

Speaking to reporters postgame, Jones admitted that it was a "very concerning" and "very humbling" loss. He also admitted that he was surprised by the team's poor performance.

" This was a shocker ," Jones said, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Jerry Jones celebrated his 82nd birthday on Sunday, so the loss is definitely not the gift he was expecting to receive from his Cowboys.

Unfortunately for him and Dallas, it was just a bad matchup for them. For a team that ranked 14th in total defense entering Week 6, facing one of the best offensive teams this 2024 season was just too much.

The Cowboys have a bye in Week 7 and will return in Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers. Sure enough, it will be interesting to see if America's team can bounce back.
