Joe Burrow still having problems with his wrist

Joe Burrow still is not fully recovered from the wrist injury that he suffered last year.

Burrow tore a ligament in his right wrist in Week 11 last season and underwent season-ending surgery. Though it’s been nearly 11 months since he underwent surgery, Burrow still is not fully recovered.

During their coverage of the Week 6 “Sunday Night Football” game between the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants, NBC’s Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth talked about the status of Burrow’s wrist.

NBC showed video of Burrow shaking out his right hand while throwing passes in warmups prior to the game. They also brought up some comments Burrow had made to the media during the week regarding his wrist.

“I would say I’m still not quite throwing it the way that I would like,” Burrow said during the week, according to the Bengals’ official site . “I’m making good decisions, I’m putting the ball where I want to. I still think there’s another level of improvement I can get to coming back from injury on ball rotation and spin rate and all that. So, that’s going to continue to get better as I get healthier, so there’s always another level to find.”

Watching Burrow throw during the Bengals’ game against the Giants, you wouldn’t have known he was having problems. His passes still had plenty of zip on them and were thrown with tight spirals. But Burrow knows what he is like when he’s at 100 percent, and he says he’s still not back there yet.
