Dishwashers have a hidden feature and people can't believe it

Dishwashers have become an essential part of our kitchen arsenal, effortlessly cleaning our dishes, glasses, and containers . While the traditional sink wash still stands strong, dishwashers offer a time-saving convenience, allowing many to run it every few days instead of tackling the dishes nightly.

But there's a 'secret' feature that seems to have flown under the radar for many. TikTok user @hotdogsilly blew minds across the platform with her captioned revelation: "My whole life is a lie."

She was stunned after discovering a video demonstrating how to adjust the height of the dishwasher's top rack, reports the Mirror .

The clip shows the struggle of fitting a tall wine glass into the top drawer, which refuses to close due to the glass's height. But then, a simple click of a lever on each side of the rack magically drops it down, making ample space for the stemware.

These levers, hidden in plain sight on either side of the top rack, can be pushed in to lower the shelf, creating extra room for those lofty glasses and dishes. At the video's end, hotdogsilly checks her own dishwasher and, lo and behold, it sports the same useful feature!

Naturally, the comments section lit up with reactions from stunned followers who were just as surprised by this dishwasher hack.

"Ok so this one video proves that the 1000 hours I have spent here was actually all worth it," one person said, via Tyla. While lots of people managed to use the hack, some had questions over how to get the top shelf back to its original position.

One said: "I just tried it and it worked but I don't know how to get it back up there lol."

A second commented: "I did it but how to fix it now, HELP."

Some pointed out that the feature is not on every dishwasher. One person, though, had a solution to that problem: "My dishwasher doesn't have this so I have ordered a new kitchen ."
