Right now, the model projects WVU to go 6.0-6.0 (down from 6.8-5.2)Per ESPN, "The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team's performance going forward for the rest of the season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 10,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule. Ratings and projections update daily." The Index gives the Mountaineers a 68.4-percent chance of getting six wins (down from 79.8), a 3.3-percent chance of winning the Big 12 Conference (down from 11.3), a 1.4-percent chance of making the College Football Playoff (down from 5.9), and a 0.0-percent chance of making the National Championship Game (down from 0.3). They are ranked No. 38 in the FPI (down from 33).
