FL Shih Tzu Mix Pup Needs Patient, Loving Home After Being Rescued From Hoarder Situation

According to the Animal Humane Society, animal hoarding is an accumulation of animals that have overwhelmed a person's ability to provide a minimum standard of care.

One shih tzu and chihuahua mix in Florida has recently been rescued from this type of situation and she is looking for a loving home to help in her healing.

Meet Betti Jo: This lovely lady arrived at her rescue foster after being rescued from a hoarding/breeding situation with puppies in tow.

Because of her previous surroundings, Betti Jo had some health issues. She had pyometra and she needed teeth extractions from trying to escape the crate in which she was confined.

She is thought to be around five years old, is around fifteen pounds, and has black and grey coloring with a white patch. She is housetrained and learning to walk on a leash.

Once rescued, Betti Jo was spayed and received medical and dental care. Her rescue organization, VIP Rescue, has been teaching her all about human contact and trust.

The Right Home For Betti Jo: VIP Rescue has a specific type of home in mind for Betti Jo. Because of all she has been through, she is still somewhat timid and shy, so she needs a patient and loving owner willing to help her trust again on her own terms.

The rescue organization would like her to have a fenced yard after living her life in a crate so she doesn't feel confined ever again. They would like an owner who is home frequently to provide her with a sense of continuity and security.
