According to a new report by WBUR, a Boston chef plans to close all of her remaining restaurants. Barbara Lynch, a fine-dining chef and a pioneer in the Boston culinary industry announced that she plans to close her Beacon Hill flagship eatery No. 9 Park, B&G Oysters in the South End, and The Rudder.

Lynch was forced to close five other restaurants in the South End and Seaport earlier this year. Lynch claims that money is the primary factor in closing the establishments. Lynch released a statement saying, "The harsh realities of the global pandemic and the many difficulties faced calls for significant investment which neither myself nor my fellow shareholders are positioned to do".

The Rudder has already shut down, No. 9 Park will stay open until December 31, and Lynch did not have a closing date for B&G Oysters. In 2023, Lynch was accused of creating a toxic work environment
