Matt LaFleur said he wanted the Green Bay Packers to play four quarters of complementary football.

It wasn't perfect, but it was pretty close in the team's 34-13 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

They stifled Kyler Murray and a potent Cardinals run game.

The passing game found little room to roam as well.

The offense was nearly flawless, with one Bo Melton slip away from a four touchdown, no interception performance.

The Packers will have to settle for that one mistake, but still being plus-two in the turnover battle, which is something they talk about weekly.

"Coach always says the ball is our lifeline," rookie safety Evan Williams said.

If that's their lifeline, the Packers are living good. They nearly have as many takeaways through six games as they had all of last season.

More on that, and some other thoughts the morning after a dominant 34-13 win.

    Romeo Doubs

Let's start with the elephant in the room.

Romeo Doubs had a tough 10-day stretch in Green Bay. He missed two practices resulting in a suspension for last week's 24-19 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

He returned this week, and attempted to explain his absence.

Whether or not his explanations made sense do not really matter, the reality is as simple as Adam Stenavich put it on Thursday.

The Packers are a better team with Romeo Doubs on it.

It appeared on Sunday that Doubs and his teammates were able to put that situation behind them.

Doubs scored two touchdowns. One of the 10-yard variety where he broke a tackle before diving into the end zone.

The other on a play where Jordan Love trusted him to make a play on an all-out pressure.

Doubs adjusted to the ball in the air, and pulled the ball in for a touchdown to put the finishing touches on a 34-13 win.

For now, it appears the situation that resulted in Doubs' suspension is behind them.

The easiest way to move on was for Doubs to play well. He did, so did the offense.

    Christian Watson

Speaking of receivers returning to the lineup, Christian Watson provided a boost to Green Bay's offense in his first game back from an ankle injury.

Watson converted a 4th and 2 early in the game with a 14-yard reception on a drive that led to a short field goal from Brayden Narveson.

Later in the game, the Packers got the wow play they were waiting for.

Jordan Love turned his back to the defense with a hard play fake, and when he turned around, Watson was open.

Watson said he knew before the play it was going to be a touchdown.

"Yeah, it was the perfect route." Watson said.

"I kinda said a little bit earlier, it wasn’t even in the game plan. It was something we felt with how they were playing throughout the game we knew if we got a chance to get this defense right here, we knew we’d be able to take the shot. As soon as we called it, I don’t want to be cocky or anything but I knew it was a touchdown just based on how they were playing with their leverages. Really, that’s just hats off to LaFleur putting something in for us to go out there and ball."

Watson's playmaking ability is something the team is going to continue to need, especially next week as they have a showdown with the 5-1 Houston Texans at Lambeau Field.

    Evan Williams/DB Rotation

Evan Williams appears to be the new star of the secondary.

In this defensive back group there's only been two real constants.

Xavier McKinney has been one of the safeties, and Jaire Alexander has been at cornerback when he's healthy.

Keisean Nixon has moved around quite a bit as well.

The trio of Javon Bullard, Eric Stokes, and Carrington Valentine have rotated in and out of the lineup.

Williams added to his superb rookie season with one of Green Bay's three forced fumbles on the afternoon.

Williams tried to credit the scheme, but teammate Jaire Alexander wasn't having any of that.

"The scheme?" Alexander said incredulously. "That was all you, bro."

Regardless of the reason, Williams is always around the ball. It's unclear what Green Bay's long term plan is in the secondary, but it is clear that Williams needs to be a big part of that plan.

    Rashan Gary

No, it wasn't a 3-sack performance. But Rashan Gary had a good game on Sunday.

He was able to put pressure on Kyler Murray, he's just a hard quarterback to bring down.

Yes, Gary needs to start finding ways to bring quarterbacks to the ground, and making impact plays.

If he were a baseball player, it would feel like he's taking good swings, but flying out to the warning track.

In other words, he's getting close.

    Brayden Narveson

One sour note to finish on.

The kicking situation is a mess.

Matt LaFleur reiterated that the team is confident in Narveson. He cited sending Narveson back out to kick on a manageable fourth down after he missed a field goal earlier in the game.

LaFleur can say he's confident in Narveson, but there's little reason to be at this point.

Narveson has gone through one game without a miss, that was last week against the Rams.

Even some of his makes are questionable at best.

The Packers allowed Anders Carlson to work through growing his growing pains at the expense of their season.

Maybe they'll end up making a change at kicker down the road, but that does not feel like something that's happening anytime soon.
