Detroit Lions star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson 's sisters asked for prayers following their brother's gruesome injury during the Lions' 47-9 win against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday (October 13).

Mia and Aria Hutchinson both reposted an Instagram story initially shared by House of Hutch, their brother's brand and nonprofit partner, which showed a photo of the defensive end under the caption, "Please pray for Aidan." The former No. 2 overall pick was carted off the field after sacking Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in the third quarter of Sunday's game, which head coach Dan Campbell later confirmed was a broken tibia that resulted in immediate surgery at a Dallas-area hospital.

" #Lions star Aidan Hutchinson, who would have been a top candidate for defensive player of the year, suffered a broken tibia, coach Dan Campbell told reporters. He’ll stay in a Dallas area hospital overnight and will be 'down for a little while,' per Campbell," NFL Network 's Ian Rapoport reported. "While Aidan Hutchinson’s broken tibia is obviously season-ending, the early prognosis is that being ready for 2025 shouldn’t be an issue. All things considered, that’s good news."

Hutchinson recorded three tackles, including the sack on his final play, prior to exiting Sunday's game. The Michigan native recorded 16 tackles and 6.5 sacks through the first five games of the 2024 NFL season, with Campbell telling reporters that he would've been a top candidate for Defensive Player of the Year prior to the season-ending injury.

Hutchinson has been one of the biggest factors in the Lions' turnaround since being selected by the franchise at No. 2 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. The former University of Michigan standout was selected as a Pro Bowler during his rookie season and recorded a career-best 11.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss in 2023 as the franchise earned its first division title, NFC Championship Game appearance and playoff victory since 1991.

The Lions extended their winning streak to three consecutive games and will face the undefeated Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 7.
