Corgi's Precious 'Synchronized Stomps' Down the Stairs Win the Internet

One of the best parts of raising a dog definitely has to be discovering all of their little quirks and mannerisms that are totally unique to them and their breed. Some breeds, like Basset Hounds, are more likely to howl and "sing," and others, like Golden Retrievers, show their emotions on their faces so often that it's easy to believe they're actually a secret human! And then, there are Corgis. Given their unique anatomy (and overall adorableness) should we really be surprised that many of them have the cutest way of going down a flight of stairs?

If you've never seen this particular skill in action, I am pleased to be the one to introduce it to you, via this TikTok video. Just a warning, though: It's so cute that you may end up watching it 10 times in a row and get nothing done today (not that I would know from experience or anything).

In this video shared by @not.rocketraccoon , we can see this precious Corgi pup hop all the way down the stairs in a synchronized moment that would be hard for even a human to recreate (and even if they did, it wouldn't be nearly this cute).

Once he's off, he's off —going "thump, thump, thump" down those stairs and making it to the bottom like he didn't just pull off one of the most aww-inducing moments of all time. It's no wonder that over 355,000 people have liked this video!

Commenters gushed over it, too, not that I can blame them. One person wrote, "Not to be dramatic, but I would go to war for this distinguished gentleman." Same, honestly.

As it turns out, this dog isn't the only Corgi who does this — others do it , too. But why?

Why Do Corgis Hop Down the Stairs?

According to Waggle, it all comes back to a Corgi's anatomy . They have short legs and a long back, so they have to figure out the most efficient way to use what they've got, and for many, when it comes to going down stairs, this is it.

Fortunately, the website also shut down a common misconception that using stairs is harmful for Corgis. A moderate amount of stair use is just fine (though you should avoid allowing your pup to go up long flights of stairs on a regular basis).

This breed is a pretty active one, after all, so they'll be happy to get their exercise, even if it means doing little hops like these. Using stairs also helps them build muscle, so having stairs in your home definitely isn't a dealbreaker.

Plus, the hopping is just so cute. I need to see more!
