Yes, their habitat has shrunk in the last 50 years because of greedy fat at real estate developers and business men tear down these bear’s homes in the forests! And the sight of s bear on the busy streets of Gatlinburg isn’t as unusual as it used to be. It’s actually a common sight . They smell the food and know that they can get a handout. I think the restaurants in town have left food out for them simply because the sight of a bear is a big draw for tourists! And really the businesses don’t need to do that. Gatlinburg just gets bigger and more widespread everyday! They can’t miss. Gatlinburg has been a weekend getaway for a lot of local people. It’s only an hour and a half away. It’s a popular vacation spot for people who want to get away from the big city and a favorite honeymoon spot! Just DONT FEED THE BEARS!!!! I know, I can’t stand to think of an animal going hungry, but it’s a no win for the bears!!
