NBA TV’s Sam Mitchell Leaks Cohosts Address On Live TV For Joking About His Salary

Constant ribbing and poking fun at cohosts are synonymous with sports talk shows, but a recent airing of NBA TV got a bit too heated.

It began when Sam Mitchell and Chris Miles were discussing Steph Curry , Draymond Green , and Steve Kerr . Curry was showing off his gold medal from the Paris Olympics when Mitchell offered a fun fact: coaches don’t get their own medals.

“The coaches don’t get medals, Mitchell said. “I guess it just tells you what international — how they value coaches. Not at all.”

Miles kept up the bit, responding, “I’m surprised coaches get a paycheck for this show. I think, like, maybe you should do this pro bono, my friend.”

Mitchell clearly wasn’t in the same playful mood. He even commented on his paltry pay, saying, “You know, last time I looked at my check, it’s pretty close. So hey, I’m taking donations.”

Mitchell has some experience with NBA-level pay, having played for the Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves before being an assistant coach for the Bucks and eventually the head coach for the Toronto Raptors from 2004 to 2008.

Mitchell insinuates that he knows Miles makes more than him and starts listing his assets.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” Mitchell said. “Did you rent your beach house out, down in Florida, during the hurricane? Or do I need to go on. How about your townhouse?

“You wanna call me out,” he continued. “I mean, come on. You screaming broke and hungry. Let’s just see it. You know, I know what you have and where you live, young fella. So you need to stop.”

Miles tries to laugh off the comment, calling him a snitch, but Mitchell keeps going, “No, we don’t have snitches. We have truth-tellers. You’re the one who’s crying poor and destitute up here — do I need to keep going, or do you want me to stop right now?”

Mitchell goes on to warn Miles to “stop messing with me on national TV” and eventually leaks the address of his Destin, Florida home.
