Deciding on a baby name is a big moment in every parents ' life - and it usually comes with a lot of back and forth between ideas . To help you narrow down your options, the experts at Nameberry have released their list of baby name trends for 2025 - sharing the monikers you might be hearing in the school playground in the years to come.
Among their list, they claim 'actual baby names ' will be making a return, leaving the 'elderly' names such as Edith, Dorothy, Arthur, and Charles behind. A statement reads: "If the past few years have emphasized “you’re naming an adult, not a baby”, 2025 will embrace the inverse. Some of the trendiest baby names are clearly meant for babies.
"Taking inspiration from notable influencer babies, including Nara Smith’s Whimsy Lou, Jaci Marie Smith’s daughter Benny, and Savannah LaBrant’s son Blue, parents are increasingly opting for nicknames on the birth certificate and nouveau choices with a playful sensibility . Rhythm is an important factor. These spirited names are often paired with a single-syllable middle name to achieve a sing-songy effect, like Rio Rose, Klarity Doll, and Aero Lore — all recent celebrity baby names."

Sharing their thoughts on 'what makes a name 'fright' for your child', one Reddit user said: "I feel it in my gut. One of my kids even came to me in a dream and told me her name before she was born. The same thing happened with one of my angel babies."
Another added: "It literally means that it just feels right. When you look at the baby and imagine yourself calling them by that name and it just doesn’t seem to fit then it’s just not the right name for them. It’s just a gut feeling sort of thing." A third user said: "We picked three for each child, didn’t tell anyone, then decided after they were born and we saw their face to see which name fit them."
