A Closer Look

Ambrose Olsen was born on November 27, 1985, to Richard Olson and Lorraine O'Keefe, in the small town of Homer, Alaska. Early in life, Olsen had wanted to become a carpenter, like his father and grandfather. Always athletic, Olsen enjoyed hockey, surfing, and boxing.

He graduated from high school, and the Ocean Corps Diving School in Houston, Texas. He was rated as a Master Diver and held an underwater welder certification.

New York, New York

Ambrose Olsen had intended to join the Marines but in 2002 he moved to New York City and began a modeling career.

One year later, he took part in a Hugo Boss advertising campaign alongside Brazilian supermodel Raquel Zimmermann. His chiseled face and body led to remarkable success in the industry.

Olsen gained prominence following his winning campaign for Armani Exchange in 2007. He would also partner with designers like Alexandre Herchcovitch, Kim Jones, and several more.

Then Tragedy Struck

On April 22, 2010, Ambrose Olsen committed suicide by hanging, the reason for which remains unknown. A few days after Olsen's demise, a dear friend found his body in the charismatic model's New York City apartment.
