The Washington Commanders strolled into their Week 6 clash with the Baltimore Ravens looking to build on the momentum of four straight wins but ended up falling 30-23 in a game defined by rushing struggles and missed opportunities.

Despite rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels delivering his best performance through the air, Washington’s inability to get the ground game going became their undoing.

A promising moment came early in the game when Commanders cornerback Mike Sainristil intercepted Lamar Jackson’s pass at the Commanders’ 13-yard line , returning it to the Ravens' 49-yard line.

This gave Washington hope and a chance to swing the momentum in their favor after a 44-yard completion from Jackson to Zay Flowers had set the Ravens up deep in Washington territory. Unfortunately, the Commanders were unable to capitalize on the turnover, scoring just a field goal to take an early 3-0 lead that would elude them for the rest of the game.

Following the loss, head coach Dan Quinn addressed the team’s performance and where things went wrong.

“Certainly a tough game, and that’s what we talked about in the locker room,” Quinn said . “As lopsided as it felt, still in the fight at the end. There’s been a lot to learn about this game.”

Quinn further elaborated on the challenges the Commanders faced.

“Coming into the half 17-10, I think we might’ve just missed a field goal into that spot, but I thought that was the kind of back-and-forth fight we were expecting,” added Quinn. “Going into the end, we thought we would have some chances to hit some earlier, and we didn’t. By and large, not having enough completions and runs was a real factor, and the same thing when you don’t play complementary football and get enough third-down stops—you don’t get enough shots at it.”

Instead of them spending money on the offense they need to spend it on the defense they need to improve the defense that game Washington should have won but when you let a team score 5 Or 6 straight drives with two of them over 90 yards you going to lose every time the defense needs to rebound for another late game this week
