The Washington Commanders secured a gem in the 2024 NFL draft when they selected quarterback Jayden Daniels with the No. 2 overall pick out of LSU.

After winning the Heisman trophy with the Tigers in a season where he posted 40 touchdowns and 3,812 passing yards with a 72.2 completion percentage, Daniels has taken over the NFL.

Much like college, where Daniels produced 10 touchdowns and 1,134 yards on the ground during his senior season, he's become one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL with his dual-threat ability.

So far this season, through the Commanders' 4-2 record, Daniels has recorded six touchdowns and 1,404 passing yards with a 75.3 completion percentage. He's also added four touchdowns and 322 rushing yards.

While Daniels has been phenomenal for the Commanders, he lacks wide receiver depth, which could elevate his game.

Washington's wide receiver room currently includes Dyami Brown, Noah Brown, Luke McCaffrey, Terry McLaurin and Olamide Zaccheaus.

Given the lack of depth in Washington, a recent trade pitch surfaced the internet, sending Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Commanders via trade.

Bleacher Report posted the potential trade for Cooper, mentioning that building around Daniels needs to be the priority for the Commanders. The Bleacher Report's NFL scouting team explained that they have already been successful in their "plan" of surrounding him with seasoned veterans.

A couple of those veterans around Daniels include running back Austin Ekeler, tight end Zach Ertz and McLaurin.

Daniels' No. 1 receiver this season has been McLaurin, who's recorded four touchdowns on 29 receptions and 356 yards. Ertz is the second-leading receiver, with 21 receptions and 228 yards. Ekeler stands at No. 3 with 15 receptions and 198 yards.

Cooper would be able to serve as the Commanders' top receiver aside from McLaurin. During the 2024-25 season, he's posted two touchdowns on 24 receptions and 250 yards.

The Browns wide receiver signed a five-year, $100 million contract when he was previously with the Dallas Cowboys. Cooper's salary sits at $20 million per season and he'll officially be an unrestricted free agent in 2025.
