Good afternoon everyone. Low pressure continues to twist across the northern tier of the Northeast and New England. As it does, heavier precipitation is helping to pull down cold air through the atmosphere, eventually changing rain to a wintry mix and/or all snow depending on your elevation.

Areas most likely to see this changeover look to be high elevation areas of upper New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. We could aslo see some departing snow in upper Maine as it all begins to pull away. In areas above 1000ft, a few inches are possible before coming to an end.

Behind our system, we are also seeing unseasonably cold temps sweep on in. Freeze warnings & watches have been issued in parts of the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Illinois, and Minnesota. Meanwhile, we have frost advisories in Iowa, Arkansas, and even across to Pennsylvania.

Look for frost and freeze conditions to expand in size and scope, prompting more advisories and watches over the next 48hrs.
