King County, WA – A devastating collision on SR 410 near milepost 34 on October 13, 2024, resulted in two fatalities and three injuries. The crash involved three vehicles and is currently under investigation by the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

The incident began when Michelle R. Thomas, 63, of Enumclaw, attempted to pass multiple vehicles by crossing into the eastbound lane while traveling westbound. As Thomas re-entered the westbound lanes, her 2008 Honda Accord collided with a 2016 Subaru Outback, causing the Subaru to lose control. The Subaru veered across the eastbound lanes, where it was struck by an oncoming 2016 Honda Fit.

The drivers of the Subaru, a 72-year-old man from Lakebay, and his 69-year-old passenger from Puyallup, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Thomas was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center, where she now faces vehicular homicide charges for her role in the fatal collision.

The driver of the Honda Fit, Jenna G. Rheuben, 32, and her passenger, Kelly N. Nakata, 38, both from Seattle, were also injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident, but the cause of the collision remains under investigation. All three vehicles involved were totaled and removed from the scene by D2 Bellevue towing services.

The crash temporarily blocked eastbound lanes of SR 410 as emergency responders worked to clear the scene.
