Sebastian: Hope of America

America STOP! PAUSE!
Where has all the Noise and Chaos come from
Have we been infected by a terrible Strain
That leaves so many feelings helpless in the inhumane

The ideals of the American design
Requires our vigilance in all time
And not without a price
So many have answered with the ultimate sacrifice

America is perfect as it can be
Criticized by slogans, and chants of degradation
Left unanswered it creates a terrible heavy drain
That creates infection in the terrible strain

Have some ignored or forgotten the darkness of the past
When tyrants ruled for power with GAS
Such a time of death and destruction
Born about by faulty words and instructions

Have our values gone far away
That leaves Kindness, goodness, and human decency far away
Has some versions of truth become numerous lies
Only to strip the truth from our very eyes

Oh, what has happened to our nation
That eats away at our own preservation
Has our own self-interest been reset so high
That we cannot recognize the other side

How can a house divided truly stand
When some sides threaten other’s plans
Striking differences they can only find
Negligence by some of the American design

Can America survive this terrible ordeal
Without the voter’s voice for a deal
What horrible miseries can be sent
If we neglect the message that history has sent

Come down all those from high in rafters
And start to think
Before you offer America on the Brink
For when everyone is not included- America sinks

To the many platitudes that describe our land
What comes to mind that will always stand
HOPE- (Hope of People Everywhere) has always been the cry
From the very first immigrants who have raised America high

And so, all American friends
I ask you to look at all things to the very end
Through the lens of clarity and justice found
Keeping us together and fully together bound

Since you Paused and Stopped – Now think!
What your life is about in the rink
Whether you are a taker or deliver of the many unknown
Will be your epitaph by all those known

‘Where CIVILITY is not a sign of weakness,
and SINCERITY is always subject to PROOF…
May we all go forward together in this land we love
Asking his Blessing and his help, but knowing truly
That God’s work here on earth must truly be our own.
