NBA Star Jayson Tatum Reveals Devastating Personal News

The Boston Celtics will open their 2024-25 NBA season on October 22 against the New York Knicks. Looking to defend their title, Boston enters this season with a similar roster to last year's championship group.

While his teammate Jaylen Brown won Finals MVP, Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is widely considered Boston's best player. In 513 career games, Tatum owns averages of 23.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

Sharing a picture on his Instagram story from his grandmother's funeral, Tatum wrote, "Rest up Grandma."

Tatum is known for being very close with his family. His son Deuce is seen with him almost everywhere, and his mom Brandy is also around a lot.

This picture from Tatum shows that his grandmother passed away on October 5. Born on May 20, 1939, Tatum's grandmother was 85 years old when she passed.

Often speaking about his family, Tatum has expressed how much it means to him to have them around.

The passing of Tatum's grandmother is devastating news, but she was able to share many incredible moments with her grandson that the Celtics star can keep with him forever.
