Warner Bros. has announced the Janet Planet Max release date for the upcoming streaming debut of A24‘s latest coming-of-age drama. This comes after more than three months since the film’s theatrical release.

“In rural Western Massachusetts, 11-year-old Lacy spends the summer of 1991 at home, enthralled by her own imagination and the attention of her mother, Janet. As the months pass, three visitors enter their orbit, all captivated by Janet and her spellbinding nature. In her solitary moments, Lacy inhabits an inner world so extraordinarily detailed that it begins to seep into the outside world. The film captures a child’s experience of time passing, and the ineffability of a daughter falling out of love with her mother, in this singularly sublime film debut,” reads the synopsis.

When is the Janet Planet Max release date?

Janet Planet is scheduled to make its streaming debut on Friday, November 1 on Max, followed by its linear debut on Saturday, November 2 on HBO. Prior to its Max release, the film had its world premiere last year at the 50th Telluride Film Festival. It is currently Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with a Tomatometer rating of 85%.

The film is written and directed by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Annie Baker in her feature-length directorial debut. The cast includes Julianne Nicholson (Dream Scenario), Zoe Ziegler, Elias Koteas (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Will Patton (Minari), and Sophie Okonedo (Slow Horses). It is produced by Baker, Dan Janvey, Derrick Tseng, and Andrew Goldman.
