Detroit woman faces charges after she allegedly fled a traffic stop, ran a red light and caused a crash that killed 2 people

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A young Detroit woman, who wasn't supposed to be driving, is facing a long list of charges in a crash that killed a father and son from Macomb County.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office on Monday announced its case against 23-year-old Aaliyah Daz Jhanay Renee Glenn in connection with the incident in Hamtramck last Thursday .

According to prosecutors, Glenn sped away from Hamtramck Police traffic stop, at around 1 p.m. on Oct. 10. As she fled, it's alleged drove through a red light and smashed into a car at the intersection of E. McNichols and Conant.

In the vehicle that Glenn hit was 37-year old MD Sujon Miah of Sterling Heights, along with his father, 73-year-old MD Nur Mia of Warren. The son was pronoucned dead at the scene, prosecutors said, and the father was taken to a hospital where he also died of his injuries.

Glenn has been charged with the following: two counts of Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer, two counts of Reckless Driving, two counts of Driving While License Suspended, Revoked, or Denied – Causing Death, and two counts of Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer – Causing Injury.

Glenn, who was also injured in the crash, was arraigned while still in the hospital on Sunday. She was given $500,000 personal bond with the conditions she remain under house arrest, with GPS tether, and does not drive.

Glenn's next court date is a probable cause conference scheduled for Oct. 21.
