    $1.2M worth of fentanyl-laced pills seized during traffic stop

    (FOX40.COM) – Two men were arrested during a routine traffic stop after the discovery of fentanyl -laced pills valued at over $1,000,000, according to the California Highway Patrol.

    CHP said the vehicle was pulled over on I-5 in Merced County. During the stop , a CHP K9 sniffed out 120,000 fentanyl -laced pills, valued at $1.2M. Two men from Washington, ages 25 and 23, were arrested in connection with multiple felony charges.

    Police said some of the charges include possession of fentanyl for sale, transportation of fentanyl across non-contiguous counties, possession of fentanyl while armed, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of a concealed firearm within a vehicle.

    The stop comes days after CHP seized another $500,000 worth of fentanyl hidden in meat packages along I-5 in Fresno County.
