The California Legislature has passed a new measure aimed at preventing gas price spikes, signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom on Monday. The Assembly approved the bill with a 41-16 vote, though several Democrats abstained and four opposed it outright.

In his remarks following the signing, Newsom emphasized that this law is "not the final word on gas prices in California."

Opponents of the measure have raised concerns that it could lead to higher gas prices at the pump, despite proponents arguing that it will provide essential protections for consumers. As the state grapples with rising fuel costs, the debate over the best approach to regulate gas prices continues.

So he caps the oil companies from spiking prices yet approves a tax hike on gasoline. His generosity has no limits.

what pisses me off is that the politicians can move mountains and bring down unemployment, gas prices, immigration, and inflation during an election year to make themselves better, (probly just a numbers skew) but why can't they do it the whole time in office? Trump 2024
