The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has forecasted little change in weather conditions through Tuesday, but significant shifts are expected midweek as an upper-level low moves over the western United States. This system will bring widespread cooling, possible drizzle, and moderate to strong northwesterly winds.

Through Tuesday, high temperatures will remain slightly above normal, ranging from 78 to 88 degrees in the mountains and interior valleys, while coastal areas will experience highs in the 70s and 80s. Marine layer clouds are expected to return to the coast this evening, with patchy fog and light drizzle possible overnight into early Tuesday.

Starting Wednesday, the upper-level ridge will weaken, allowing a trough associated with the low-pressure system from Alaska to move into the area. This change will result in lower temperatures, with highs dropping into the 60s and 70s by Thursday, which is 5 to 15 degrees below normal. A slight chance of light rain is forecast for the Central Coast, with minimal accumulation expected. Additionally, deepening marine layers may bring patchy drizzle and fog to coastal regions through Thursday morning. Winds will remain gusty in the Antelope Valley and San Gabriel Mountains, adding to the overall cooling trend.
