Portland, OR – After a stretch of seasonably warm days, more fall-like weather is set to arrive in Oregon as a series of storm fronts will bring cooler temperatures and much-needed rain.

The National Weather Service in Portland reports that light rain began hitting the northern coast Monday afternoon, with Astoria recording 0.30 inches of rainfall in just three hours. Rain is expected to spread inland, with light showers possible into Tuesday.

A stronger weather system will bring more widespread rain late Tuesday into Wednesday, with rainfall totals ranging from 0.25 to 1 inch across the region. Showers will continue through Thursday, with cooler air and mountain snow also expected.

The rain will be a welcome change, with low flood concerns due to seasonally dry conditions.
