The weather could not have been worse. It rained all day but nobody’s spirits were dampened in the least.

Over 400 people gathered at the Erlanger Lions Park for the Senator John Schickel Pickle and Weiner Feast to raise money for NKY Special Olympics, feasting on pickles, wieners, baked beans and desserts.

New Riff distillery presented a special cocktail called the “Schickel Bourbon Back.”

The Lacy River Bank provided live music and some folks even danced in the rain.

It was a grand Northern Kentucky party to raise money for grand good cause.
It was made possible by the generosity of the Erlanger Lions Club, the Florence Elk Lodge, dedicated volunteers, and many very generous sponsors.

Thegrand raffle was a huge success, thanks to the many Special Olympians who had been selling the tickets for months.

Missy Miller from Indiana won the gas prize raffle. A special thank you to Greg Schrand of Shell Oil who donated the prize of $500 in gas.

Carolyn Bond of Erlanger won the prize of $1,200 of restaurant gift cards. Carolyn has been volunteering for the Special Olympics for over forty (40) years.

And, of course, Schickel’s Pickles got rave reviews.
