The number of undefeated teams in the Big Ten went from four to three after Week 7, with the Indiana Hoosiers, Oregon Ducks, and Penn State Nittany Lions off to 6-0 starts. The Ohio State Buckeyes were the most recent undefeated Big Ten team to fall after losing to Oregon in Eugene, 32-31.

Oregon took a late 32-31 lead thanks to a go-ahead field goal from Atticus Sappington with 1:47 left in the game. The Buckeyes got the ball back with 1:36 to go and got to the Oregon 48-yard line before quarterback Will Howard ran the football and slid in bounds without realizing there was no time left on the clock, securing an Oregon win.

Rece Davis discussed the weekend's best games in a recent edition of the " College GameDay Podcast ." The Ohio State-Oregon game lived up to the hype with "College GameDay" in town.

Before giving credit to Indiana for the 6-0 start, which is in year one of the Curt Cignetti era, Davis predicted the Week 7 meeting would not be the last time that fans would see Ohio State and Oregon on the gridiron. He predicted the two would play in the Big Ten Championship Game.

"Due respect to Indiana, which very well may work its way into this after all, but you know there's a decent chance, if not above decent chance, that these two will play again in the Big 10 Championship Game." Davis said.

Reaching the Big Ten title game in its first season would be remarkable for Oregon. The UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans and Washington Huskies also joined the conference this offseason. Ohio State is not unfamiliar with the Big Ten Championship Game, as they are tied for the conference lead in appearances with the Wisconsin Badgers at six each.

Ohio State's remaining schedule includes the Nebraska Cornhuskers (Oct. 26), Penn State Nittany Lions (Nov. 2), Purdue Boilermakers (Nov. 9), Northwestern Wildcats (Nov. 16), Indiana (Nov. 23), and the Michigan Wolverines (Nov. 30).

Oregon takes on Purdue (Oct. 18), the Illinois Fighting Illini (Oct. 26), Michigan (Nov. 2), the Maryland Terrapins (Nov. 9), Wisconsin (Nov. 16), and the Washington Huskies (Nov. 30) before closing out the regular season.
