Aaron Rodgers Calls Out One Teammate After Game-Losing Play in Jets-Bills

After taking a close loss to the Buffalo Bills on "Monday Night Football," New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers gave a contentious post-game press conference.

The Bills beat the Jets 23-20 in a close game filled with big plays and controversial calls. The forty-year-old Rodgers threw for 294 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn't enough as the Jets were unable to capitalize on drives, including two missed field goals.

Rodgers, a four-time MVP quarterback in his second season with the Jets, threw a costly interception in the fourth quarter that all but sealed the win for Buffalo and an uphill climb for the now 2-4 Jets.

In his post-game press conference, the outspoken Rodgers did not hold back when asked about the game-sealing pick, calling out one teammate in particular.

Rodgers put the blame on wide receiver Mike Williams, saying he ran the wrong route on the play leading to the interception. Rodgers claims Williams ran an in-breaking route rather than the sideline vertical that was called.

"Two verticals," Rodgers said, "Allen's [Lazard] down the seam, Mike's [Williams] down the red line," referring to a sideline vertical.

Breaking down the play, he continues, "I'm looking at Allen, he puts his hand up, three guys go with him. So, I'm throwing a no-look to the red line. When I peek my eyes back there [Williams] is running an in-breaker. It's gotta be down the red line."

Rodgers says the incorrect route altered his throw, leading to the untimely interception, saying he had to "kind of adjust it a little bit" halfway through his throwing motion.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback made his feelings on the matter clear. After a tumultuous week for the Jets which included the firing of head coach Robert Saleh, any potential locker room discourse will catch the public eye.

The 2-4 Jets will look to right the ship when they face the 4-2 Steelers on Sunday Night Football off a short week.
