Michael Jordan sure has been loosening those purse strings of late. Not long after it was revealed that Jordan had spent $2.2 million on a 1-of-1 Pininfarina Sports Car , he now has reportedly forked out $70 million on a Gulfstream 650ER private jet, which looks stunning. Swipe left on the post below to check out some pictures and a video.

The "Jumpman" logo can be seen at the tail of the jet and its number N236MJ holds a special meaning too. In case you couldn't figure it out, 23 was Jordan's jersey number for almost the entirety of his career, 6 is the number of NBA championships he won, and MJ is his initials.

Jordan also reportedly spent around $500,000 for a custom paint job for this jet. To go with the silver and black look it features an elephant motif, a reference to the elephant-print Jordan Brand sneakers.

As for the inside, the jet can accommodate 19 passengers and a crew of four. It provides quite a luxurious experience, with leather recliners, a dining area, and a fully stocked LED-lit bar. There is also a private bedroom on board for long-distance journeys, which this jet is quite capable of undertaking.

Two Rolls-Royce BR725 engines power it and it can fly up to 13 hours without having to refuel. The jet is rapid as well, as it can hit speeds close to Mach 1 and holds the record for the fastest, farthest flight in business aviation history.

As you might imagine, properly maintaining a jet like this costs a lot too. The yearly maintenance cost is approximately $1.9 million and could go up even further depending on how often it flies.

You and I will probably never be in the financial position to buy and maintain this jet, but it isn't burning too big of a hole in Jordan's pockets. According to Forbes , the 61-year-old now has a net worth of $3.5 billion and can easily afford multiple jets like this one.

While Jordan has shelled out a lot of money on the car and the jet, he is also in the process of completing a significant sale. Jordan's Illinois mansion, which has an asking price of $13.8 million, is set to be sold after 12 years on the market. He had initially listed it at $29 million in 2012 but was eventually forced to lower the asking price to get it off his hands.

As for what else the Chicago Bulls icon has been up to of late, he was at the Hall of Fame Awards Gala on Saturday. While there, Jordan congratulated Vince Carter ahead of his induction into the Hall of Fame . He also crossed paths with his former head coach Doug Collins and appeared to be in great spirits.
