Through six weeks in college football, three players have separated themselves as the heaviest favorites, including the one in the lead that few saw coming to this extent before kickoff. From there, six more quarterbacks and another athlete anywhere from 15-1 to 30-1 round out the Top-10.

Here’s how Vegas sees the Heisman race ahead of the back stretch that’ll decide who’s at the ceremony and eventually wins the honor:
Ashton Jeanty is by far the national leader in rushing as well as touchdowns, both rushing and total, this season on a team that could be the Group of Five representative in the College Football Playoff . That has him on pace for an all-time season and now as even more of an odds-on favorite for the Heisman.
Jeanty has rushed for 1,248 yards already, over 300 more than the next closest, at an average of 208 per game and almost a first down per carry in scoring 18 total touchdowns. That production is at a historic rate, regardless of who it’s coming against, which has him even further at the top of the list this week.
Dillon Gabriel reminded college football about himself in a top-three win for Oregon over Ohio State on Saturday. He went 23-34 (67.6%) for a season-high of 341 yards and three total touchdowns in a one-point win over the Buckeyes.
That has Gabriel, in his sixth collegiate season for his third program , as one of the nation’s leading passers on a team that’s now rejustified as a top contender in their conference and in the country. It also rose him up to No. 2 from No. 5 at (+1400) just last week.
Cam Ward has seen his case take some setbacks between his last two outings, having a bye this past week, and the play of other people on this rating. Still, he remains in third within a clear top-three for The Heisman Trophy.
Even without a game this week, Ward is still second in passing yards, first in yards per game, and tied for first in passing touchdowns as he has completed 69.2% of his throws for 2,219 yards and 20 touchdowns. That stat line plus Miami’s standing this season has kept him ahead of this conversation from the start.
Welcome back, Quinn Ewers. After a two and a half game absence over the last month, he returned in a win in the Red River Rivalry with 69% completion for 199 yards, a pair of total touchdowns, and an interception.
This obviously wasn’t the best outing for Ewers in his first game back from his strained oblique. Still, him being back at all as the quarterback for the top team in the nation was enough to improve his odds to where they were earlier on this season as he’s now back up in a five-way tie for fourth.
Carson Beck is around the same standing again as he rounds out the top-five. That comes after a quiet two weeks, especially this past weekend, for the Bulldogs.
Beck is one of the top passers in the sport with 1,818 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five picks on 67.9% completion. Still, his Heisman case, as well as Ewers’ for that matter, could get a big boost depending on who wins in the top-five matchup between the ‘Dawgs and Longhorns in Austin this weekend.
With not as much concentration on Clemson, Klubnik has crept up these odds now to (+1500). That comes during what’s currently looking like it’ll be his best collegiate season with his improvement with the Tigers.
Even with a rough first outing, Klubnik still has passed for 1,528 yards, 17 touchdowns, and only two interceptions on 66.8% completion. That puts him in position for this award, especially now with Clemson well within contention in the ACC.
Jalen Miloe, much like the Crimson Tide too, has seen a negative impact from the past two weeks. He saw another one of the bigger shifts in odds among the players listed with him down from the favorite two weeks ago at (+220) to (+900) last week to (+1500) now.
A loss to Vanderbilt and a close call against South Carolina caused that to some extent at ‘Bama. However, Milroe, while still posting 72.3% completion, 282.5 total yards per game, and five touchdowns overall in those two games, has also turned the ball over four times, three picks and a fumble, which is double the amount that he had in the first four games.
Hunter also saw his Heisman hopes take a big hit this week as he’s down from No. 2 at (+320) to (+1500). However, that odds movement wasn’t fully his fault from during the Buffaloes’ loss last weekend.
A shoulder injury in the second quarter caused Hunter to miss the remainder of the game against Kansas State with him exiting having one tackle along with three receptions for 26 yards. That takes away from his case as a two-way case when he’s unable to be on the field at all – much like what happened last season.
Nussmeier was one of the bigger upward moves in the odds after the Top-15 win for LSU over Ole Miss. While the Tigers’ quarterback was inefficient on the night at 22-51 (43.1%) with two interceptions, he was still able to get his team to the overtime win with 337 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-tying one in the final minute and then the game-winner.
While not his best game, Nussmeier had himself a moment that he can add on to if he and his team can keep competing within the SEC.
Drew Allar also joined the Top-10 in a tie with Nussmeier at (+3000). He does so after an overtime win in a Top-15 matchup of his own for the Nittany Lions at USC.
Allar went 30-43 (69.8%) for 391 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions against the Trojans in LA. That, even with the picks, was one of the more productive games of his career as he too has improved to the point of being in the running for The Heisman Trophy.
