The Las Vegas Raiders have finally parted ways with wide receiver Davante Adams, who had requested to be traded a few weeks back. Adams is reportedly going to the New York Jets , as expected.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero , the Raiders are receiving a 2025 third-round pick that can become a second if certain conditions are met. In addition, Las Vegas will not be picking up any of Adams' remaining salary.

The compensation is less than the Raiders reportedly wanted, which was a second-round pick, plus additional compensation. However, it was always unlikely they'd receive that for Adams due to his age and contract. The fact that the Raiders didn't pick up any of Adams' money likely led to them getting the pick they did.

It goes without saying that the Raiders are now very depleted at wide receiver without Adams in the mix anymore. Here's their current situation.

    Raiders WR Depth Chart

    Starter Backup
    Jakobi Meyers DJ Turner
    Tre Tucker Tyreik McCalister

As you can see, not only are the Raiders lacking proven talent, they also only have four wide receivers on the active roster. Las Vegas has four more on the practice squad in Kristian Wilkerson, Ramel Keyton, Jalen Guyton and Alex Bachmann. Expect the Raiders to promote at least one of them.

Jakobi Meyers now becomes the No. 1 option in the wide receivers room and is likely to get peppered with targets as the most proven player in the group by a country mile. But his status is up in the air for Week 7 after he sat out Week 6 because of injury.

The No. 2 option in the wide receivers room is Tre Tucker, who has shown flashes during his career, especially as a deep threat. However, he is far from proven, although he'll get an opportunity to prove himself now.

Thankfully for Raiders quarterbacks, 2024 first-round pick Brock Bowers exists. The tight end has exploded onto the scene early on in his career and is going to be heavily relied upon moving forward.
