2024 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 7

The Fantasy football waiver wire features a unique group of players heading into Week 7. That allows us to attack the waiver wire from fresh angles. Hopefully, that can provide an edge over your league mates. Here are five of the best wire targets available before Week 7 of the NFL Season.

Here is a recap of previous waiver wire targets that should be considered if they are available in your league.

    Week 2 : Bucky Irving

    Week 3 : Braelon Allen , Jauan Jennings , Jalen Tolbert ,

    Week 4 : Andrei Iosivas , Rico Dowdle ,

Week 5 : Dontayvion Wicks , Tucker Kraft , Kareem Hunt , Josh Downs

Week 6 : Tank Bigsby , Ty Chandler , Jaylen Wright , Tyrone Tracy Jr, Allen Lazard

    Christian Watson – 44.6%

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson is the top waiver wire target heading into Week 7 of the NFL Season. Watson has been over the 50 percent ownership for the entire season, but his percentage dropped after an ankle injury .

Watson does not appear to have lingering issues from his injury. In his return, he logged three receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown.

The flaw with Watson is that he is a boom-or-bust player. That said, when he booms he can be a player that wins you a matchup. In best ball leagues, that makes him a player you have to own. In lineup leagues, you can throw him into your starting lineup if you are dealing with injuries or bye weeks.

I am all in on the Packers receiving weapons. This is an offense that is going to sling the rock and produce passing touchdowns. In six games, the Packers have thrown 14 passing touchdowns. That includes games where Malik Willis played for an injured Jordan Love .

Jayden Reed , Watson, Romeo Doubs , Dontayvion Wicks , or Tucker Kraft can pop for a big game every any given week. In Week 7, Reed is the only one that has not been available on the fantasy football waiver wire. I’ll gladly roster any of the other options with the hope I can start them on a boom week.

    Romeo Doubs 29.6%

Romeo Doubs is another Green Bay Packers receiver wide worth adding from the fantasy football waiver wire.

Doubs is coming off a massive week where he finished with three receptions for 49 yards and two touchdowns.

The logic for adding Doubs has a lot of similarities to the previous section about Watson. I will gladly pick up Packers pass catches off the fantasy football waiver wire.

I would much rather have Watson over Doubs. The upside of his big weeks is much higher. That said, Doubs is a player with much less ownership.

    Drake Maye 3.8%

The fantasy football waiver wire produced some potential options at the quarterback positions. New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is the first signal-caller worth adding.

Maye made his first start in Week 6 against the Houston Texans and had a strong fantasy football outing. Maye went 22 for 33 with 243 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. On the ground, he added five carries for 38 yards. This is a solid outing against a stout Texans defense.

I am not expecting Maye to play at an elite level throughout 2024. The Patriots simply lack the offensive line and weapons required to support a rookie quarterback. That said, he can be serviceable in fantasy. The Patriots should regularly play from behind. This will allow Maye to be aggressive and take shots downfield. Furtermore, he has a respectable amount of rushing upside.

Maye is a must-add in multiple quarterback formats. In single-quarterback formats, he could have weeks where has strong performances, but he will be a risky start compared to more established players.

    Spencer Rattler 2.5%

New Orleans quarterback Spencer Rattler is the other quarterback who deserves consideration to be picked up from the fantasy football waiver wire.

Rattler had his first career start in Week 6 after Derek Carr suffered an oblique injury. As a starter, he went 22 for 40 with 243 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. Rattler added 27 yards on the ground.

Rattler is worth adding in multiple quarterback leagues. The Saints have had a productive offense thus far into the season. That is partially because of offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. New Orleans may not produce at the same level with a backup quarterback; however, Rattler is not awful. I expect him to have a few solid fantasy outings.

The quarterback position is hard to improve in multiple quarterback leagues. The waiver wire rarely produces quality options. In this case, Rattler provides a few weeks of production. It is worth mentioning when discussing waiver wire targets.

2024 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 6

    Isaac Guerendo – 0.9%

The final fantasy football waiver wire target is San Francisco 49ers running back Isaac Guerendo.

Guerendo has become fantasy-relevant after Jordan Mason suffered a shoulder injury . The rookie had ten carries for 99 yards in his absence.

Mason’s injury is not serious. It appears like he may not even miss a week. That said, he is still banged up. At a minimum, he is a solid handcuff. Once a running back is hurt, it is worth investing in the backup.

If you have open roster space, Guerendo is worth a roster spot. The value of a running back in a Kyle Shanahan offense is massive. That has already been shown with Mason. It should be emphasized that Guerendo is not as good as Mason and he does not have as much upside. Still, he has the potential to become a difference maker and he is currently free on the fantasy football waiver wire.
