Fantasy Football: Jets Acquire Davante Adams From Raiders
We already went over the trade grades . Now we’re doing the fantasy football angle of the Davante Adams trade . Let’s have a quick chat about how fantasy managers should react now that Adams plays for the Jets.
Adams owners should be happy. Regardless of the real life dysfunction of the Jets, this is an improved landing spot. As long as Rodgers is healthy, Adams’ fantasy stock increases. There is no doubt about that.
The quarterback makes the receiver despite whatever people want to pretend otherwise. Go ask Tyreek Hill fantasy owners how they feel right now with Tua Tagovailoa out of the lineup. Adams goes from the Minshew/O’Connell tag team duo to Rodgers. It’s a win for Adams owners any way you slice it.
It’s also probably a win for Rodgers’ owners. Adams is going to take the Mike Williams spot in the lineup. Williams has been awful, by the way. Williams has ten receptions for 145 yards through six games while being a drop machine. Adding Adams in that spot should only help Rodgers. Williams might not be on the Jets roster within the coming weeks. He’s been that out of place.
Garrett Wilson owners probably shouldn’t panic. If anything, there is a chance the Adams addition helps. Right now Wilson is the focal point and often times sees double teams. It should free up more open looks for Wilson. If anything, Allen Lazard owners should worry… unless you play best ball. With another high volume target added to the room, Lazard could be left behind. He still has the trust of Rodgers so likely will still have a few boom weeks but you will never know when to start him.
Everything depends on price. I don’t hate going to trade for Adams if the price is reasonable. If the Wilson owners are panicking, that might be the real move you can make. Wilson is talented and produce with or without Adams on the team. Rodgers needs to stay healthy. That’s really the biggest risk with all of this stuff.
The Raiders angle of this is pretty easy. Brock Bowers is now the best weapon in the offense. We tried to warn you this was coming for the Jakob Meyers owners. Tre Tucker now becomes a thing in those best ball boom weeks.
