The incident in question took place on February 19th, 2024. Officers with Canton Police Department were dispatched to Liberty Street, to the Quick and Easy Gas Station. Upon arrival, the officers encountered Balwinder Singh, who had been stabbed in the face. Singh, the owner of the gas station, stated that Gordon had been caught stealing beer at a prior date.

According to Singh, Gordon tried to enter the gas station again, and Singh requested that he leave the premises. Gordon began making verbal threats, at which point Singh directed him to leave. When Gordon existed the gas station, Singh followed him into the parking lot. At that time, Gordon pulled out a knife and stabbed Singh in the face.

Officers searched for Gordon and found him in a truck which he had gotten into in order to avoid being found. The bloody knife was still in his pocket, according to the officers.

Gordon was also charged with methamphetamine possession, unrelated to the stabbing incident due to a 2022 incident.
