Ringgold football resumes activities after investigation into allegations

After canceling last week's game with Thomas Jefferson for alleged player misconduct, the Ringgold School District investigated.

District Police and the Washington County District Attorney's office did find some inappropriate behavior among a small group of football players but concluded the violations were isolated and not pervasive.

They also concluded that at no time was the coaching staff aware of the misconduct.

Due to privacy considerations, details will not be shared but as of Monday, October 14, all football related activities (practice and games) are on as scheduled and the “appropriate action has been taken to ensure that such conduct does not repeat itself,” wrote Ringgold Superintendent Randall Skrinjorich.

The Rams are scheduled to play Belle Vernon at home on Friday at 7 p.m.

Last week’s game against Thomas Jefferson could be made up or considered a forfeit, but a decision has not been made yet.
