Curve Turns Fatal: One Dead, One Injured in Hwy 395E Motorcycle Crash

LAKE COUNTY, Ore. – A motorcycle crash on Highway 395E near milepost 148 on Oct. 11, 2024, left one person dead and another seriously injured, according to Oregon State Police.

The crash occurred at 5:35 p.m. when a northbound Honda motorcycle, operated by Tyler June Rich, 39, of Lakeview, failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and crashed.

Deanna Lee Rosecrans, 39, a passenger on the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rich suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The highway remained closed for 4.5 hours during the investigation. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

Oregon State Police were assisted by the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Modoc County Sheriff's Office, Thomas Creek Westside Fire Department, Lakeview EMS, and ODOT.
