Golden Retriever's Instant Love for New Puppy Brother Brings All the Feels

Adding another dog to the family when you already have a good thing going with your current dog is never an easy decision. It might feel easy when you're looking at your brand new puppy the day you adopt them, but once you're at home, things can be a bit complicated as everyone in the family adjusts to their new normal, especially the dog who just became a big brother or a big sister. It's a lot to get used to a new roommate, not to mention one who is going to require them to share their parents' attention.

Even though this can be tough for plenty of dogs (and understandably so), some simply take it in stride the way the Golden Retriever in this TikTok did. These dogs' mom says to take this as a sign "to get your dog a dog," and if anything's going to tip the scales in the direction of adopting a new puppy, this footage is going to be it.

In this adorable video from @it_is_a_pancake_life , we get to see just how instantly a Golden Retriever named Pancake fell in love with his new puppy, whose name is Donut, adorably fitting in with the breakfast foods theme.

The dogs' mom wrote that "everybody" warned her that Pancake would be jealous of the new puppy, but as these clips prove, that's not what happened at all. In fact, Pancake just wanted to cuddle with the new baby, and Donut was more than willing to soak it all up. How sweet is that?

Commenters absolutely gushed over Pancake and Donut on the video, with one person writing, "well, now I'm teary eyed over two Goldens I've never met." Big same over here!

This is most certainly the start of a truly adorable friendship!

Pancake & Donut's Story So Far

These brothers are still brand new to each other — their family just adopted Donut earlier this month, so it's even more amazing that those boys are already getting along so well from the jump!

In fact, it was only a little over a week ago that Donut, who was eight weeks old at the time, took his first flight with his parents to get to their home. (Unsurprisingly, everyone fell in love with him on the plane, including the pilots, who let him hang out in the cockpit.)

Along the way, Donut even got to run around NYC and stay in a hotel, enjoying a little one-on-one time before meeting his big brother.

I can't wait to see these two continue to grow close as Donut gets older. They are too sweet together.
