Liverpool will have eight games to juggle in the month following the upcoming showdown with Real Madrid at Anfield including a home clash against Manchester City .

The Reds have made a strong start to the season so far, with six wins from seven outings in the Premier League so far during the early months of the Arne Slot era. A victory away at Crystal Palace was the Merseysiders' ninth under the new head coach and put them top of the table heading into the international break.

The Dutchman's has also successfully navigated commitments in both the EFL Cup and the Champions League , with impressive wins over West Ham, AC Milan and Bologna. However, major tests loom on the horizon for Liverpool, with clashes against Chelsea and Arsenal to come before the close of October.

  • Arne Slot handed another injury boost ahead of Liverpool return as training pictures released
  • Pep Guardiola has made feelings clear on Trent Alexander-Arnold amid England speculation
  • However, the most significant challenge of Slot's tenure so far will come on November 27, with the mighty Real Madrid set to descend on L4 once again. Following on from this clash with Carlo Ancelotti's outfit, the Reds will then have eight games to contend with before the end of 2024.

After facing Los Blancos, games against Manchester City, Newcastle United, Everton, Girona, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and West Ham are all in the diary for December. Having enjoyed a record-breaking start to his spell at Anfield, the final month of the year could well prove to be a major test of Slot's mettle.

Either way, the former Feyenoord boss has spoken of the need for his players to keep focused despite the fanfare surrounding their recent performances. Speaking previously, Slot asserted: "The results at the weekend mean we are currently top of the Premier League and this is something the players should be pleased with of course.

"But at the same time, we know that the fixtures we’ve had at the start of the season have not been as hard as they have been for other teams. This isn’t about dampening excitement because we always want our supporters to believe in what we’re doing and the possibilities it may bring.

"It’s about being realistic and understanding our own progress because by doing this, we can keep obtaining the information that we need to keep on improving. If we can keep on being serious in our approach in this way, it can only help us, especially because this is our first season back in the Champions League after missing out last time round."

Speaking about the challenges posed by the sheer amount of fixtures moving forward, he added: "Playing Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday in two competitions is always a big challenge in so many ways. It tests our squad, our preparation, our recovery, our ability to cope with different pressures and so many other things besides.

"Staying humble, keeping our feet on the ground and knowing there is a lot of hard work and improvement still required is not just the right way for us, it’s the only way."
