Wyoming Ski Resort to Sell $25 Lift Tickets to Jeans Wearing Skiers

One of the best parties of the season is returning to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR), Wyoming for a second consecutive year.

Ski In Jeans Day will take place at JHMR on December 7, 2024 with lift tickets costing just $25 per denim-clad skier. Keep reading for more details.

JHMR's inaugural Ski In Jeans Day was hosted in December of 2023. In total, 3,114 skiers and snowboarder donned denim in the blustery yet sunny conditions. The resort crushed the previous world record for most skiers in jeans that was held by a ski resort in New Zealand.

POWDER was on hand for last year's event to film a video and take in the scenes as skiers flocked from across the country. Despite decades of making fun of people skiing in jeans, it turns out that folks get hyped to ski in denim en masse. Especially when it only costs $25 to do so.

If you're planning on visiting JHMR for the whole weekend, the resort has you covered. Lift tickets for three days of skiing across Friday-Sunday, December 6-8, 2024, will cost just $199 per person. That's more than a $600 discount when compared to three days of weekend skiing during one of JHMR's peak or holiday time periods. Not too shabby, not too shabby at all.

Check out my experience at last year's 'Ski In Jeans Day'. It was a trip!

If you're planning on visiting JHMR for Ski In Jeans Day, follow the tips below. I learned the hard way, and won't make the same mistakes this time around!

    1. Wear an excessive amount of layers (Jeans aren't warm when compared to Gore-Tex, duh.)
    2. Buy a pair of jeans that can fit over your ski pants or bibs (This is clutch when you want to revel in the denim fun but don't want to freeze your private parts off.)
    3. Keep your head on a swivel (Thousands of skiers rocking jeans turns into quite the party. Keep your head on a swivel so you don't miss a moment.)
    4. Don't fret getting wet (If you fall, your jeans will get wet, but don't fret. If you're wearing appropriate base layers, you should be fine. Just keep skiing and have fun!)

Excited yet? I sure am. It's a bit of a hike from Tahoe to Jackson, but my desire to attend JHMR's second Ski In Jeans Day this year won't be deterred. I plan on being there with a smile on my face and denim covering my legs.
