According to a new report by Bangor Daily News, a Portland-based eatery is closing its doors for good. According to the report, Local 188 announced that it will be shuttering after 25 years in business.

The owner and chef of the eatery, Chef Jay Villani, released a statement saying "Words cannot express how incredibly lucky I feel. The depth of meaning you all have given my life is immeasurable. What a truly special gift".

Local first opened its doors in 1999 and grew a solid following over the years. Salvage BBQ, another eatery owned by Villani, was recently shut down as well. Villani did not say what the reasoning was behind the closures.
