Since first airing in 2011, The Voice has given hundreds of artists a legitimate shot at their dreams. However, there are just as many who never earned a single chair turn. Fortunately, The Voice believes in second chances. We’ve already seen the reappearance of one season 1 fan favorite since season 26 premiered Sept. 26. And during Monday’s (Oct. 14) Blind Auditions episode, another former Voice hopeful returned to the set for redemption. And she certainly received it.

Camryn Brooks Returns to ‘The Voice’

Three years ago, Camryn Brooks was among the season 21 crop of The Voice contestants hoping for their chance to shine. Sadly, the Californian left disappointed when neither Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, or John Legend turned their chair for her.

That was not the case during Monday’s (Oct. 14) episode, when her effervescent cover of Maggie Rogers’ “Light On” ignited a coveted four-chair turn. In fact, Brooks’ performance even got coach Gwen Stefani out of her big red chair. “I was first!” the No Doubt frontwoman yelled.

“I’m literally crying right now because this is like, absolutely unreal. I was a contestant on season 21 and I didn’t get any chair turns,” Brooks told the season 26 coaches.

“We tell so many contestants, if they don’t get a chair turn, to please come back,” Reba McEntire said.

“I’m so glad you’re here with us,” continued the “Fancy” singer. “It was a wonderful job. You sing so beautifully.”

    Who Did She Choose?

Snoop Dogg added, “We say it all the time when we try to say the right words to make people feel comfortable with coming back. You’re the perfect example of that.”

Michael Bublé thought he had cinched Brooks when the two bonded over their early gigs performing their respective national anthems. However, Stefani still needed to say her piece.

The “Hollaback Girl” singer came in hot, comparing the artist to her favorite singer-songwriters of the ’70s. “I would listen to that voice on a record. It’s round, it’s soothing,” Stefani said. “It would be really fun to work with you because I feel like we could pick some really cool songs and define who you are.”

That sold it for Brooks, as she chose Team Gwen. Catch her during the Oct. 21 Battle Rounds premiere on The Voice.
