Lions predicted to land $94 million superstar at the NFL trade deadline

The Detroit Lions need edge rush help in the worst way in the wake of the season-ending injuries to both Aidan Hutchinson and Marcus Davenport, the latter of whom was signed in free agency to provide help for the former.

Ever since Hutchinson went down, Lions fans have been dreaming of a trade for Las Vegas Raiders superstar edge rusher Maxx Crosby, who is one of the few players in the NFL who could adequately fill Hutchinson's shoes.

And that's exactly what FanSided's Lou Scataglia has Detroit doing. He predicts the Lions will land Crosby in a deal with the Raiders ahead of the Nov. 5 trade deadline.

"Maxx Crosby truly feels like the AFC version of Hutchinson. Both are the absolutely epitome of what it means to be on their respective teams and play with a motor that no other player in the league can match," Scataglia wrote. "The Las Vegas Raiders can really embrace a rebuild in this scenario and get a haul of picks and years of cap relief by trading Maxx Crosby."

As Scataglia notes, acquiring Crosby would cost a haul of draft picks, but the Lions would be hard-pressed to say no to an elite pass-rusher who, along with Hutchinson, would wreak havoc on opposing defenses for years to come.

The problem is that the Raiders aren't likely to trade Crosby, as we went into detail about in a separate article. That largely has to do with the fact that Crosby doesn't want to be traded, something he has said on several occasions, and most recently last week.

"Come on bro, you know where I want to be," Crosby said amid speculation that he may want out of Las Vegas. "You think I want to be anywhere else? No. I got this s--- tatted on my body. I don't want to go anywhere."

While Crosby would get the Raiders' rebuild off to a leaping start with how much he would command in return, Las Vegas isn't going to trade him unless Crosby is open to it, and by all accounts he is not.

Of course, Crosby doesn't have a no-trade clause, so the Raiders could just trade him anyway, but the franchise respects him too much to do that. The Lions will have to look elsewhere for help.
