Exxon is planning to sell some of it’s lands and assets on North Dakota’s Bakken shale formation. Exxon is exploring sales options of over 800 oil wells, with 137 of those currently operational. Over 49,000 acres in total could be up for sale. Appraisers value the land and assets at around a $500 million. Much of the land that could be sold in currently undeveloped. A spokesperson for the company says they still plan on investing in development elsewhere in North Dakota. The Bakken Formation is the third-largest oil producing region in the United States.
