Jets Make Another Move in Wake of Davante Adams Trade

The New York Jets stunned the NFL world when they finalized a trade for star wide receiver Davante Adams shortly after their Monday Night Football loss to the Buffalo Bills that closed out Week 6.

With this defeat being their fourth of the season, the Jets front office knew it was time to make some changes, and it resulted in them going out and reuniting Adams with his former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

There's no doubt this move was a big one that was quite exciting for the Jets and their fans. Unfortunately, it wasn't the only move they ended up making on Tuesday, as the team was forced to place starting safety Chuck Clark on injured reserve shortly after pulling off this deal for Adams.

Clark picked up a high-ankle sprain during New York's loss to Buffalo, which only added insult to injury. By placing him on injured reserve, the Jets are saying that they don't believe he will be back within four games, which is the minimum amount of time he will be out for now.

After missing the entire 2023 campaign with a torn ACL, Clark made a strong return to action early on for the Jets this year, racking up 32 tackles to go along with a sack, a fumble forced, and a fumble recovered in his six starts.

With Clark out, Ashtyn Davis and Jalen Mills will likely see bigger roles for the Jets as they look to fill in the strong safety role alongside Tony Adams.

This tough blow has certainly taken the wind out of the Jets' sails a bit, but there's still a lot of excitement surrounding the team with Adams now onboard, and they will look to carry that over into Week 7 and pick up a win when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football.
