Taco Bell knows how to beckon us to the drive-thru with its new items. Mtn Dew Baja Blast Gelato. Caramel Apple Empanadas. Nacho Fries , the most successful product launch in the chain’s history. Even comebacks like the Double Decker Taco have us headed straight to Taco Bell for a taste.

In July, Taco Bell launched its Cheesy Street Chalupas to a successful response.Now, it’s testing the next new menu item: Chicken Al Pastor Street Chalupas. Here’s what we know (and where to order).

What’s in a Chicken Al Pastor Street Chalupa?

Chicken Al Pastor Street Chalupas have the bold, savory spices of al pastor plus a hint of sweet pineapple. This menu innovation takes the fan-favorite slow-roasted Cantina chicken, douses it in chiles and a delicious al pastor seasoning blend, then wraps it in cheese and street-sized Quesalupa-inspired shells. Each one is topped with fresh cilantro and onion. Honestly, this sounds so good, we won’t even need Fire sauce.

Taco Bell says it wished to build on the overall success of the Chicken Cantina menu while creating a deeper connection with street taco culture. If this chicken al pastor resonates with eaters, Taco Bell hopes to have an expansive array of Mexican-inspired items by 2025. I’m not going to lie, we hope that happens, too.

Where to Find the Street Chalupas

Like the Cheesy Street Chalupas that Taco Bell tested in October 2023, the Chicken Al Pastor Street Chalupas will only be available in Minneapolis. If there’s a strong response, it’s likely we’ll see the new Taco Bell Street Chalupas at local restaurants sometime next year.
