Oklahoma Sooners' stud weapon is ready to defy the odds against South Carolina

The Oklahoma Sooners are in dire need of some help in their wide receiver unit. Well, let me rephrase that -- the entire offense needs some help.

But, we have spent far too long talking about that the last week and especially the last few days, as seeing how they only scored three points against the Texas Longhorns , one of the most embarrassing games this school has ever played.

But, the season isn't over. The Sooners are still 4-2, as are a ton of teams in the SEC. So, if they win, which will be very hard to do with this difficult schedule, the Sooners could still have a shot at the SEC Championship Game. But, they have to turn around their offense, first.

Obviously, that could take some time. As long as they continue to get better every week, they work and hone in on their craft, the Sooners should be fine.

And, it will only help that the team should be starting to get healthy again. I mean, they could even have back their best and most talented offensive player this week against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

According to head coach Brent Venables, the Oklahoma Sooners could get back Deion Burks as soon as this week. Venables said that Burks is trying to "defy all odds" and make it back after suffering a soft tissue injury against the Tennessee Volunteers.

He has since missed against the Auburn Tigers and Longhorns. True freshman quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. has not had the best receiver on the team yet as a starter, or at all when he plays. That would be a huge help on Saturday if he could play.
