Fans have spent a considerable amount of time wondering if Real Andrews would return to General Hospital, especially given Kelly Monaco's recent axe .

The soap actor admitted that he's been in a bit of a limbo state, fending off questions from fans who want to know if he'll be coming back. However, he finally confessed that this chapter of his life will be coming to an end. In a social media video, he said: “The writing has been on the wall for a long time…. and I wanted to come here because you guys have been phenomenal, the best, amazing supporters.”

While it's time for him to move on, Real doesn't seem to hold animosity. Instead, he sent plenty of love to some of the behind-the-scenes creatives on the show, including executive producer Frank Valentini and head writer Bob Guza.

Real won't be bowing out of Hollywood too quickly, though. Fans will be able to spot him in an upcoming mystery project which the actor said "is the biggest role in my life." In fact, the job offer is what made it clear to Real that this soap opera would be in his past. He said: "It’s in the best, biggest and best network, the best director, producers, writers, in my opinion, in the industry — we’re in pre-production for it.”

Currently, Real is under a strict non-disclosure agreement, so he couldn't spill too much about what's coming up, but did add that it is the "best, biggest project of my life, ever."

"The most important one. And everything comes together, and happens for a reason, right?" He further explained that his life was leading up to this casting decision.

Real said: “God said this chapter of my life is closed. Yeah, that was awesome, and I was able to go out with the material that I was blessed [with]. I mean, what a dream for an actor, to be able to go out with material like that. I mean, that’s every actor’s dream…. I mean, it certainly was mine and the cast members that I’ve gotten to work with — the friends, you know? I mean, Maurice is my boy.”

While he seems to be closing the door, Real wouldn't dare to fully rule out another appearance on General Hospital. "Never say never," he hinted.
